Notes
Diana and Ida went to Igerera B to teach about Harmony and unity in marriage. The community had already gathered ready for the lessons. Rose the Secretary welcomed everyone and encouraged them to pay attention to whatever is taught to them. She welcomed Ida and Diana to take them through the lesson. Ida started by taking them through the recap of the previous lesson. Isiko said that she remembers that trusting in God is the best thing any one can do, Harriet said that she learnt that her best friend is God and He is the one who will deliver her from every problem, Christine said she learnt to have humility and put God first in everything they do. Ida thanked them for their good answers and encouraged them to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Ida introduced the lesson of the day which was Harmony and unity in marriage. She asked them what they understand by the term marriage, Janifer Kadungu, said that marriage is being together with your husband, ziringira said that marriage is having children with your husband, Rose Nasurumbi said that marriage is husband and wife coming together as one family. Ida thanked them for their good answers and told them that marriage is like a mountain, it is a struggle to reach the peak, because of the rocks, itching grasses, snakes, slippery sometimes, lack of enough oxygen. But after you have reached its top, there is always a cool breeze, a good sight of different villages. Ida told them Marriage is companionship and it should be respected. Diana talked about unity, which is the state of being one individual. Diana asked them things that drive Harmony and unity in marriage. Shamim, said that she gives her husband her ears, Nakibi said that she obeys the husband, Tigatola said that she cooks for the husband, James said that he cooks for the wife, this prompted laughter from the community. Diana told them that they should not laugh at James, because it is the right thing to do. Men should help their wives in handling some chores, this will help in promoting unity. Diana thanked everyone for their beautiful answers. Diana told them that it is good for the husband and wife to live happily, work together, pray together, keep a humble heart, , seek wise counsel. This discussion continued as Diana talked about Hygiene in marriage as being one of the things that have removed unity in marriage, forcing some men to seek for happiness elsewhere. The community thanked Diana and Ida for the good lessons that have started transforming their marriages.
