Notes
Suzan went to the village to carry out a home to home visit purposely to find out which method is currently used by the community members to prepare food as well as to mobilize the community for the next program lessons. she was welcomed by the l.c.1 chairperson who volunteered to walk with her to homes of the participants. During the home visit, Suzan observed that the members were cooking on the traditional three stones open flames and also found children trying to prepare on them which was dangerous to their healthy because it can easily lead to fire accidents . Most kitchens lacked firewood storage stands that required them to look for firewood on daily basis. In most homes food was being cooked by women and children as the men were busy in the trading centers playing cards. Most participants had kitchens though they were not smeared. Also during the visit she briefly explained to the participants about the healthy and safe kitchens program and encouraged them to come and attend the meeting when called upon so that they can learn more about the program because it requires physical participation and team work. The members were so happy for the new program and promised to attend the lessons in the coming meeting.
