Jeska,Suzan,Irene,Manuela, Alex B,Tom,Enoch,Walyomu went to the village for borehole commissioning and to give incentives to the healthy and safe kitchen active participants. This was a joint event planned by both the WASH and Healthy and safe kitchens programs. It was also intended to introduce other Kibo programs that will be working in the village. The Government officials like Chief Administrative Officer(CAO) ,Resident District commissioner(RDC), District water officer ,Community Liaison officer(CLO) also attended to witness Kibo activities in the community and encourage the community to sustain what Kibo. The village local leaders first addressed the public by thanking Kibo Group for work done in their village especially through water sanitation and hygiene program and the healthy and safe kitchen program that enabled them to live in a clean environment , access to clean water and fuel efficient stoves that has helped them to cook in a clean environment thus reduced cases of fire accidents and diseases caused by poor sanitation and hygiene. Each Kibo staff spoke to the community and thanked them for embracing all the Kibo programs so far implemented in their village such as the WASH program and the healthy and safe kitchens program. Also the new programs that have not yet worked in the village like Community Healthy Education, Mvule Community Development program, Life skill Education and counseling program were introduced in the village and requested the community to be cooperative when they start working there. The community was very excited to hear other programs that Kibo intends to implement in their village and promised to be cooperative with any program from Kibo. The members were requested to continue improving and maintaining all their facilities as much as possible and also continue cooking on their new improved stoves on a daily basis. Suzan and Jessica went ahead and encouraged the participants to scale out the program the neighboring communities which also enable them earn some money. And for the good work carried out in the village, Kibo staffs informed the participants how they were going to receive a few gifts from Kibo Group as a sign of appreciation. The gifts were to continue uniting them during any program activities and in any function within the village. The district officials witnessed as Kibo staff members gave the community some gifts. Each participant was given one bar of soap and two large saucepans were handed over to the community which they can use at any time during any functions within the village. The main purpose of the gifts was to unite the members and motivate them to continue working together as a team during any developmental activities. Both the C.A.O and the R.D.C addressed the community and thanked them for being committed to the Kibo Group programs especially as a team and requested them to continue accepting any other new programs from Kibo which will enable them improve on their ways of living with their families. The community was so grateful and promised to continue working together with Kibo Group programs for more development.
