Notes
Lornas plan was to continue with the previous lesson on Rape and Defilement. This lesson is to make aware the different causes and consequences of Rape and why this vice is still on the increase , a silent killer. This lesson however did not happen since on the way to the village, Lorna got a puncture and a flat tire which took about 3 hours to get it fixed. Lorna communicated to Manuela who sent her a spare tire using a boda boda since she was at Naibowa not so near but was very timely and of good help. When we got to the village finally, the community members noticed Lornas car had another flat tire. Lorna had to organize again and take the tyre to a nearby centre to get it fixed. At the meeting place, the community members had been waiting this whole time they mentioned to Lorna that they were not going any where but would wait for her to arrive safe at the village or find ways of helping. Because time was far spent the lesson of the day was not taught. However Lorna spent this time encouraging and reminding the community members to put in practice all what has been taught to them She urged the parents to continue fulfilling their responsibilities in their families both mother and father and grandparents alike. Lorna urged children not to be carried away by the festive excitement as this would land them into trouble. To listen to their parents, elders and not move just around the village .She urged parents to prepare for the next academic year 2022 and not spend all the money in the festive season. Now is the time to put money aside for those who haven’t and prepare their children mentally for School. Lorna went ahead and encouraged the parents to work together as the body as a head cannot function without the other parts and so the father in this case is the head and that he should always consult with their wives and children in making decisions. The chairman appreciated Lorna for persevering and reaching the village despite the challenges and thanked a God for protecting her. He was happy for the lessons and Kibo group for helping the government in sensitizing the community/ villages on such issues. He urged the community members that these lessons will only make sense if they put them in practice.
