Notes
Maria went to Ituba Namalowe to carry out a final home to home evaluation, check on the general hygiene of the community, checking on breastfeeding members, and pregnant women. The VHT madam Mariam together with Maria started the walk around the village checking on the members mostly those who have been so active in this program and the community at large. Maria and Mariam went around the village monitoring the breastfeeding mothers, pregnant mothers, guiding and encouraging them to use family planning methods so that they can lighted the burden or stress, checking on the hygiene of the community, the ventilation of their houses, checking on the immunization cards, checking on the antenatal cards for the pregnant mothers, encouraging men to save money for hospital bills, among others. We found Nantale who gave birth from the near by hospital after receiving a mama kit from Kibo, she shared how the health workers helped her and thanked her plus the husband for being so organized, this was because these two had a mama kit which was provided by Kibo. Maria encouraged Nantale to take the child back for immunization and keep the home, house, bedding clean to avoid the many diseases that may attack her baby. Still during the walk, Maria came across a couple (Robert and Monica), Monica is an expecting mother and very active in community health education, these two were counseled on how to prepare for the coming baby, save some money for hospitals bills, among others. The walk continued and we found Micheal and Amina one of the active couples, Amina is expecting a baby early next year, she prepared the requirements that the Kibo staff encouraged them to have. Comparing on the first visit made in this village, the general hygiene of this village has greatly improved, members have acquired knowledge about their health, there is new connections between community and the near by health center &health worker, mothers learnt how to do breast attachment & bonding the chid, father , mother. Maria asked the VHT madam Mariam and mr magala to always go through the village checking on the health of the members and encouraging to put whatever they have learnt in practice. The VHT together with Maria ended the walk.
