- Notes
- David and Steven were in nawandyo A to have a meeting with both the two sanitation committees from A and B . This meeting was intended on how the members of the water and sanitation committee in A would help those in B to improve on their sanitation status to meet the required sanitation set standards. They reached the village when both committees were already waiting for them. The committee members from A started by thanking Kibo staff for the great work of transformation from the poor hygiene standards to the best presently. After that the chairman from B mr hamudhani mulamogi requested the committee members from A to always spare for his residents at least one day in a week of teaching and encouraging them about good sanitation improvements and maintenance .Kibo staff were impressed by that process because it would help even when they would be out of the village. Another reason as to why David and Steven thought that by involving members from section A ,would help those in B was because they heard those from A saying that they would love seeing the entire two sections growing and developing together as one village. Therefore David and Steven requested them to share the equal responsibilities of sanitation improvement amongst themselves because the diseases will not only move in one section but move everywhere, worse it being a rainy season.
Kibo staff after the meeting also passed by the homes of those members still lagging behind. For example; kasimu mpasa, kizito kibunduka,Buruno kibunduka and Paul kasambago. They found when they were all working on their latrines and about four of the above mentioned members had good progress. They encouraged those who were lagging behind to double their efforts towards the work of sanitation improvement instead of running away. They advised them to always ask the Kibo staff where need be for improvement and maintenance.
