Ws Notes
David the H P m from the district kabugo and Steven along with the three visitors from the U S A Alex,Jeff, and Doug went to kigalama to do a repair of the borehole . This borehole is the one benefiting the three communities for example kigalama primary school ,Eden primary school and the hospital. The borehole had issues with its internal and external parts for example pipes ,rods, cylinder, third plate, water tank and head assembly causing the less amount of water flow from the borehole. Also the school pupils would get a hard time before getting enough water for drinking and home consumption for the rest of the area residents. The school pupils some times would end up missing classes and other topics, because they would have spent longer hours at the well waiting to get water. The only way out for them was to move two and half kilometers from their homes to where the other good working Kibo well was .For that reason the Kibo had to pattner with the three communities mentioned above to help with the repairing of that borehole. They were supposed to contribute 300000 shillings but because of the poverty presently in that village, the committee members were able to get 270000shillings as their contribution towards the borehole account. The main reason why the Kibo repaired this borehole was that because they wanted to reduce on the high number of residents who could over use the other Kibo well by over pumping it. The visitors and the Kibo staff found when the h p m had removed the old parts out waiting for the Kibo staff along with the visitors who were taking the new parts. The Kibo staff along with the mechanic mr kabugo from the district carried out the repair process by replacing the following old borehole part by new ones. The following were the parts replaced stainless pipes,third-plate ,bolts, water tank ,stainless the head assembly . After the repair the crew tested the recovery of that borehole just to check how long it would take one to fill up one jerrycan . They found that it would take one minute and nineteen seconds before one fills up a jerrycan. They were all happy because that showed that the borehole they had repaired had enough water for all the area residents. After that the Kibo staff called the many residents who had gathered for a few remarks on how they would safeguard the sustainability of their well and also the unity and cooperation amongst the three communities. The visitors also encouraged them to maintain the-good sanitation standards of their home facilities.Further more Mr. Doug one of visitors thanked them for the unity and cooperation. After the repair, they all left for the other part of the village which had almost all the kibo programs in there. They found when stoves group was making stoves for other members. They told the visitors that for one to qualify for a stove in his home ,one should have all the sanitation facilities up to the required standards. From there they saw a lot of goats and mvule trees which were previously given to them by the mvule program. They were all good and healthy. The visitors were happy and requested the members who had the goat and the trees to be faithful with what they had for the better life to come in the future. They also encouraged the members who were using the borehole water for the project of brick making to involve more members such that they would grow and develop together as one community. The Kibo staff and visitors left the village hoping to visit them one more time for a review about the rules and regulations governing their borehole .
