Notes
Abraham,Anna and Annika visited Ikumbya community members and they went around checking six homes. They were checking on how they planted the Mvule trees and found they did a great job although some of the members did not put the cages around the trees to protect them from animals. They were using their stoves and many homes were swept, they went to the bore hole and they are keeping it clean , the fence is as if they built it Yesterday. They visited one of the best homes of and the students were very happy to see such a nice home in the village, one of the students said that Ikumbya is the best village she has seen so far. They have the best kitchen, the best stove, best toilet and the best compound. They proceeded to the meeting place and found thirty three members waiting for them. Abraham thanked them for the great work they are doing and advised them to put the cages around the trees to protect them from animals who may destroy them but the spacing was good thirty meters from a tree to another. One the community members told the meeting that there is some rumours going around that the government is going to take all trees and they are going to put a stamp on each tree so that they will not be able to cut them. Abraham asked them if they know someone who said it and all the members said that they are hearing and he told them those are rumours and there is no proof for it. He promised them that he will bring the district forestry officer and he will explain more about the issue. The chairperson Ms Nabirye said that they have three members who are going to help on checking trees in every home to make sure everything is good. The next meeting Abraham hopes to take the district forestry officer and help discuss with the community about the rumours going around because most people had started cutting the trees which they planted before Kibo. They gave Abraham a list of seventy five members who planted the Mvule trees.
