Notes
Enock walked around to check on the new hand washing facilities constructed because the previous week he had triggered the process of hand washing to the community residents. They walked around with the VHTs and Chairman to check on the sanitation progress as well as continuing to teach home to home how to construct hand washing facilities to homes which haven’t been constructed and don’t have the idea how to go about it. As they walked around, they saw 3 already constructed hand washing facilities, the jerrycans were clean, had water inside them and they are being used. Enock asked them how they felt about using hand washing facilities. The families are so happy to use them and washing hands after visiting the latrines. The community is working so had so that everyone gets a hand washing station in their homes but the main objective is that everyone uses them. As they walked around they also checked on the pits which were under construction. There are 2 newly constructed latrines to replace the broken ones which broke down due to heavy rainfall.
The community is maintaining their facilities like; latrines, shower areas, dish racks, kitchen areas, clean compounds and using rubbish pits to dump the waste materials. There have also been a replacement of new dish racks in some of the homes, the people are using them effectively. The VHTs and Chairman are also continuing to walk around with the residents to check on the new hand washing facilities as well as teaching the rest of the families to construct good hand washing stations.
