Ws Notes
David and Steven were in nawampiti to continue following up on the borehole account balance for the nawampiti 2 borehole . They did so because previously ,they had left the committee members with the responsibility of contributing the remaining money towards their borehole account.David and Steven were happy to find when the members had collected the remaining borehole account balance of 30000 thousand shillings. David and Steven encouraged the committee members and the area residents to share the same effort they used while contributing the money towards their borehole account. After that David and the chairman of the borehole mr kagawa and Jacob the v h t decided on monitoring and checking on the the homes which were lagging behind as far as sanitation improvements are concerned. They moved in fifteen homes and out of the fifteen home the nine homes had finished working on their facilities, and the six were starting to work .David and the committee members because there was still some time, crossed to nawampiti 1 to check on the three homes which were not previously meeting the required standards.Only one member called Yasin wanyanja had completed his pit latrine he was also constructing on it .But when they reached the village chairman’s home ,he told David and the v h t mr Jacob that he was waiting for the coming harvesting season in about two and a half weeks so that he would be able to get money to construct a better shower area. The village committee members and David agreed with him and gave him three weeks to work and improve on his shower area. When David,Steven and the v h t reached the last home of mr Moses wabusa who did-not have a latrine, they didn’t find anybody around but his neighbors told David and Jacob the v h t ,that he had abandoned his home for namutumba to look for jobs. The neighbours said that they will pass the information to him for all he was supposed to do in his home to avoid the diseases from being transferred from his home to other homes. David ,Steven and Jacob agreed on having a meeting during the next village visit to get away forward for the few homes which will be still lagging behind. Generally, the community members have worked and improved on their hygiene and sanitation about 90 percent on the latrine ,dish-racks ,rubbish pits and shower areas apart from a few who are still working so that the entire village will meet the required hygiene standards.
