Notes
Alex B and the community did the demonstration of digging the pit for planting the mvule tree and filled it with compost manure. The members gathered at the home of the chairperson of the group Mr.Saul Mutoto for the demonstration. The pit was dug to the size of two meters deep, two meters wide and two meters length. There was nothing to stop them to dig deep upto two meters as there was no stones. Two people managed to dig it while others were looking and observing how they were making it. The measurements were done to prove that what was dug is right and good. The members after digging the pit went to look for the compost manure for filling the pit. They delivered it near the pit and we mixed with top soil or loam soil to have a good mixture ready for making the tree to grow healthy. The few did the mixing while others were observing the process and it was exciting as they were sorting out stones, metallic objects and materials that do not rot. They began putting the compost manure in the pit while observing that it is a good mixture without any object. We filled it to the beam and even marked the middle of the pit that when planting is being done , the tree should be planted in the middle.
The members asked if it is good to protect the area where the demonstration was done and we agreed that yes so as not the children and animals to stump on it before the mvule seedling is planted.
