Notes
Introduction Lorna went to Kigalama primary school and the plan was to first review the previous lesson which was on Attack and Avoid before introducing the new topic relationship skills. Objective - At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to understand what relationship skills means - The pupils are expected to know how to relate with their fellow pupils, teachers and their parents Overview When Lorna reached the school, she started by asking the pupils about the previous lesson. Lorna made this pupil centered whereby she chose representatives from the class groups A,B and C. Their role was to ask their fellow pupils questions as they responded by putting up their hands. Lorna did this because , the pupils in Kigalama are a bit shy, so she wanted to encourage them and give them an opportunity to express themselves. She also did this to enable the pupils practice their English as they interacted with fellow pupils. After going through the above exercise, Lorna introduced the new topic relationship skills. Lorna started by asking the pupils what the word relationship means. After they understood what the term relationship means, she then proceeded on with the rest of the lesson. Lorna still taught this topic with the help of one of f the pupils together with the whole class. As Lorna taught one pupil called Hajjara was writing all the answers on the board. Lorna talked about how teachers, parents and pupils can relate with each other. Some of the answers were neutral to all parties like; respect each other, share with each other information, listen to each other, forgive , love each other. However Lorna also encouraged them that when this relationship however goes beyond like ; when a father, Uncle Aunt ,mother start touching their children sexually then this is not a good relationship. She asked them when such a thing happens , should they forgive the person ? . The pupils said NO even though it was their parent, teacher, they will report to the police or any other responsible party. Conclusion Lorna left the pupils and teachers with an assignment to research on the topics ; What is LOVE and Managing our emotions.r
