Ws Notes
David and Steven went in the village to follow up on the three homes which were affected by the strong rains which destroyed most of their home sanitation facilities. Also to prepare the community for the next coming borehole general meeting intended to guide the community in selecting a Water User Committee because the committee which has been working together with the WASH staff was a temporary on. When David and Steven reached the village they first moved in the three homes which were lagging behind because they were the homes which were strongly affected by the strong winds and rains . They first moved in mukisa Moses's home, who had dug eight feet and he said he was left with seven feet to finish his pit latrine. The next home they visited was for Yasoni wanyanja's, where they found when he was almost left with six courses to finish up the construction of his latrine structure. Also they moved to the third home of an old man without a-wife Simon Bumba ,he had gathered the grass for the roofing of his kitchen. Kibo staff appreciated the sanitation progress in the above mentioned homes and encouraged them to double their efforts before they get to start the next busy season of planting. In addition to that they were supposed to have a meeting in order to prepare every member for the next coming general borehole meeting which was intended to guide the community and come up with a permanent and effective borehole water User committee. However because of the LC 1 campaigns which were going on Kibo staff was not able to have a meeting instead they just mobilised a few people they came across encouraging them not to miss the next coming general borehole and sanitation meeting . They kept on encouraging the few members to pass on the information about the next general meeting because they didn’t want anybody to miss because this was going to be an important meeting. Generally according to the days assessment, the entire village had worked and was meeting the required set sanitation and hygiene standards.
