Notes
Two old women who are Mvule members were the first ones to reach They came as earlier as 9:30am when the meeting was at noon. Everyone promised to follow their example of loving these programs that Kibo sends to their village. Ida went to Naibowa and taught about making ORS. She first asked the community if they knew what causes diarrhoea. Some said they knew and gave causes like eating dirty food, not washing hands with soap, open defecation, among others said that eating too much like there is no tomorrow. After they answered all the questions, Ida later told them of how diarrhoea kills.she also pointed to them of how a simple thing of staying clean and taking very good care of their bodies is very much cheaper than when some one is admitted and has to incur the hospital expenses and it gets even worse when the patient dies because one has to buy a coffin, feeding moaners, which leads to loss of food in the gardens, things get lost in the process. Yet one can prevent all this just by washing hands with soap, boiling water to drink, stop open defecation, and if one contacts diarrhoea, then making oral rehydration solution is the way to stay hydrated until ones visits the hospital. This is how ORS is mixed. One liter of cool boiled water , one teaspoon of sugar , one pinch of salt, and one lemon or banana to add flavor the solution.
