Tom made a visit to kisiro village to make a follow up on sanitation and hygiene improvements as well as holding a meeting with the committee members to discuss about the upcoming general village meeting where they will discuss about the program as well as results from the second evaluation. When Tom reached the village, he found when the committee members were waiting for him in the trading centre and after a short visit with them, they decided to move around the village before the meeting. They moved in the trading centre area where they found new pits being dug as well as other facilities being constructed. In the homes where they found when pits were being dug, Tom and the committee members encouraged the residents to use better constructing materials such as big logs on the pit as well as stumping dirt into mud in order to make better and durable latrine floors. In one home they found the resident digging a circular pit and they thanked him as it’s one of the best methods to dig a pit for a latrine especially in a sandy place like kisiro village. As they were moving around the village, one resident requested them to visit his home so that they can guide him on how to construct the latrine after digging the pit. One of the committee members guided him on how to construct a good and durable latrine. After them moving around, they came back to the meeting place where they discussed about the coming village meeting. The meeting was about how to mobilise the community so that every body attends the meeting. All the committee members agreed to mobilise the village and promised that they will move around the village and mobilise each and every person in the village for the meeting. Tom thanked them and also promised them that he would arrive early for the meeting that day and the venue was selected to be at the trading centre.
