Notes
The construction of latrines, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen areas, digging rubbish pits, use of ash in latrines, good designs and standardization of the facilities were taught by Enock as walked around with chairman, VHT Micheal who are also learning how we teach so that they are taking the lead in the community to empower one another on the core values of all the facilities. The people in the trading center complied to us that some people use there latrines especially those who don't have latrines in there homes. A few residents have constructed doors and put locks on the latrines and this is helping them to manage the sanitation and maintenance. The chairman encouraged all the residents who work and also leave in the small town to take the initiative to construct proper doors and place padlocks on the latrines for each homes, this will force most of the people to construct new latrines in homes that don't have any. We saw some 4 new latrines and 5 new pits under construction. We were so happy when we saw families that didn't have a latrine before we started working in this village are having good latrines and working on other facilities.
