Lesson Taught
Bible Lesson 4: Loving others
Notes
Ida went to Kitukiro and taught a lesson about "Loving others " She started with reviewing the previous lesson which was God's love. The chairperson took the lead, and it was interesting seeing them disagreeing on some points. Where some thought that the answer was wrong, one gave a right answer. Ida asked the community to name some of their friends, all gave long lists and were happy to have many friends. She continued asking, who has a co- wife? Two women raised their hands, in the list they gave the names of their co-wives were not included. Do you have people you think are hard to love? The majority said yes. Ida asked who were they, they listed as follows: Co-wives, the poor, thieves, witch doctors, children of co-wives, those with AIDS, old people. Ida asked one member to read from Luke 10:25-37. After the reading there was silence. Ida prayed that God reveals to everyone what He wants them to do. Sarah Kibuuka stood up and said that she has learned to help even those people she doesn't know, related to just like the Good Samaritan did. Atiang said that the story is talking about Kitukiro community, she is not from that village but they showed her love that made her stay as a resident. Nangobi confessed that she used to hate and talked bad to people who were suffering from aids, but when her daughter got it, those she was laughing at and talking bad about, came and comforted her daughter and convinced her to start taking medicine. She continued saying that they should Love those who hate them e.g herself and whoever they think cannot be loved. The chairperson said that Kibo is a Good Samaritan because they were suffering from many diseases related to bad water for years, they begged the government for many times for help but failed, from no nowhere Kibo comes in just like a Good Samaritan! Kibo didn't know them, they were not their relatives nor were they their parents but helped them with new stainless pipes and new everything! They don't have enough to pay Kibo but they will extend kibo's love to others. Sophie thanked Kibo for teaching them how to love. Sarah closed with a prayer.
