Notes
Jeska and Tape found some people waiting for them at the meeting place. After a few minutes other participants also came. We guided them to choose a committee that will govern and coordinate the Healthy and Safe kitchen program. They selected a committee of 5 people whereby two were women and three men. This was gender balanced and the women a greed to bring men also on board. They later asked the community to identify challenges and suggest possible solutions to over come those challenges. The group identified late coming as one of the challenges that may fail the program. The group suggested that who ever comes late will be fined and charged to pay Ugx2000. Some people were proposing Ugx500 as a fine but others said that Ugx 2000 will do better because participants will fear to pay it therefore come for the meetings on time. They also said in case a member dodges meetings after getting a stove the group will gather and destroy the stove so that they all loose as a group. This be done in case some dodges with out a clear excuse like sickness, death . They said that in case some one gets a problem should communicate through the leaders who will later inform the entire group. Kibo staff encouraged them to follow those policies since they are the ones who have set them.
