Notes
Enock and Martin went to this village to check on the latrine construction and other facilities. They also had a general meeting with the local residents to talk about the way forward of the people who haven’t completed the construction of latrines in their homes. When they reached, they first walked around to check on latrine construction in particular homes which were just constructing their latrines to see if they are completed, built well on good standard, continue teaching them and emphasizing the importance of sustainability. They met a gentleman called Iwubwe Iduma who for a very longtime he didn’t have a latrine but left him with an assignment of completing his latrine during the agreement of one week which was given to him. Surprisingly this gentleman was able to dig a 17ft deep latrine under the supervision of the Local leaders and VHTs. We met when he has completed the latrine walls as well. His brothers who where also surrounding him without good standard latrines, we found when they made proper latrine structures. In the second home of the LC2 didn’t have a proper latrine, he has also completed his new latrine in his homes. The residents where already gathered in the trading center to attend the general meeting. The chairman LC1 opened and welcomed the us to his village so that we can talk to the community members who where gathered. Martin first spoke and appreciated the families which have taken the initiative to improve their sanitation and hygiene. He mentioned some few people who are really good examples in this community that have invested a lot of energy to construct and improve their sanitation to challenge the residents who haven’t completed their facilities. After Enock stood up and mentioned to all the residents all the names who have no latrines to shame them so that they can be able to spread up and construct their latrines. The chairman and VHTs promised to follow up on each home which doesn’t have a latrine to encourage and monitor there progress. The community agreed by the end of September, everyone in this community has a latrine.

Village Notes
There is one of the resident who has been so stubborn for over a year he didn’t have his latrine in place. But it took us continuous follow ups in his home talking to him to be able to dig a 17 ft deep latrine and built on it.

4150 This is the latest picture of how Suliaman’s latrine looks like. This old man of 72 years of age is so impressing every time we visit his home. He has made his latrine look so outstanding compared to the people of his age and challenging the young couples and families in this village.
4153 This is also one of the new latrines in this village
