Village Notes
Buluvu has got two boreholes now, one drilled by the government located in the upper part of the community and the second one being drilled recently by Kibo group on the lower part of the village. All the community members have been sensitized equally to own both boreholes and have equal responsibilities towards both boreholes.

Notes
Alex went together with the assistant district water officer to Buluvu to conduct the last training of the water user committee members about the proper borehole management and emphasizing more about their active roles and responsibilities. The assistant district water officer told the committee that only this borehole drilled by Kibo shall serve its purpose in Buluvu village if only everyone on the committee plays his/ her role actively at all times. Ownership and sustainability can be possible if the leaders know what they are doing and everyone in the community has equal responsibility and obeying their borehole bylaws they formed as a community. The water officer perused through each position roles on the committee and each to understand properly what they are supposed to do. All the committee members that attended the training appreciated Kibo for the helping them understand what should be done with the borehole as this will help all the community members to how best they can own their water source and to have equal responsibility towards their borehole since now all the people know that it’s very expensive to drill a borehole and it’s luck to have clean water accessible to everyone in the village. All the water user committee members that together with the sanitation committee members promised to protect the borehole and encourage all the people to maintain their sanitation standards in their homes each having all the sanitation facilities in place at all times. The village has started using their new well and Alex has been monitoring to see the water quality and make sure the water meets the village needs. On a good note the water is clear and pure and everyone who tasted it says that its good and not salty at all. The official commissioning of the borehole is expected on Monday 3/08/2018.
