Notes
Introduction Lorna went to Kigalama to continue with the lesson of HIV / AIDS transmission however, this did not go as was planned. Overview Lorna called waiswa the secretary in the morning but his phone was not going through and so were 2 others; the chairman and treasurer. When she was soon approaching the village Waiswa informed her that he was in Mbale and had unfortunately not called the village this morning to inform them of her coming. When Lorna reached the village, there was no one and since it was late to inform the people of the meeting at 12pm, Lorna decided to cancel for Wednesday and instead went to a Namuseno to meet with the chairman and inform him of the intention of life skills in this section of the village. When Lorna reached Namunseno at the chairman’s place, she met the chairman’s 2 wives with whom she chatted with and then asked to speak to the chairman. She was however informed that the chairman had gone to the police station. Lorna asked what the matter was and she was informed that a certain man had impregnated a girl and the parents of the girl had pressed charges but later dropped the charges but the chairman was asked to report back to the police to clear the police case. She asked for his number and called him. The chairman Tuli told Lorna that he was at the police station. Lorna asked to meet him which he agreed and they met at the trading center. Lorna told him of Kibo’s intentions with the life skills program to work in this village and told him about life skills program and what it is all about. The chairman was very happy and welcoming of the program. He told Lorna he has heard about Kibo and he cannot wait for this program to begin in this village. Conclusion On Lorna’s way back, she passed by Nawaibete village to check on the situation after the local council one elections. She talked to one Kulisi who said that the situation was still tense since some people were still in custody. Lorna asked if the lessons can resume, she said we need to wait before resuming the lessons. Lorna then also went by the borehole and found the fence intact and they had dug a soak pit although it was getting bushy. She also met some kids washing their jerrycans and she thanked them for what they were doing and asked them to continue. Lorna also talked to Kulisi for them to dig out the grass that had grown in the soak pit.
