Notes
Harriet found some members waiting for her at the home of Kagoya where a demonstration lesson for removing banana stems from a built stove was to be conducted. As soon as she reached other members also joined . Harriet demonstrated to them how to remove banana stems as she explained to them the whole process. When the group saw a complete stove they were very excited and Kagoya the owner of the stove asked Harriet whether she can immediately start using her stove to cook. Harriet told her that the stoves needs to spend four weeks after it is built and this will give it time to dry. This is because if they set fire in it before it dries it can easily crack. After Harriet asked them whether they can try to remove banana stems next time on their own because the stove program is more practical than theory. The women told her that they need more three lessons on this however men asked for one more lesson before they try it out. Harriet encouraged the women not only to look at the men to build stoves but also for them to participate because the program directly benefit women more than men.
