Ws Notes
David and Steven were in the village to continue encouraging those that were lagging behind as far as sanitation and hygiene improvements were concerned. They moved from the trading centre towards the lower section of the village.David and Steven,s focus was also to bring the two homes which were practicing open deification up to speed. That was in the lower section.During there home to home movements they found when mr Watongola had started to dig his latrine pit about 7 feet deep. The Kibo staff were so much impressed with him and even advised him to dig-his latrine pit straight . They told him so because they never wanted watongola,s latrine to easily collapse. After that David and Steven continued to the next home of mr Richard walubi .For him also he had start digging his pit latrine and the pit was about 4 feet deep.He was reminded to work hard because the set deadline date was around a corner. However those were the two homes mentioned above. As they were heading out of mr Walubi,s home ,they were joined by mis phider the adviser on the water and sanitation committee. After they had greeted her, they asked phider if the other committee members had moved in the upper section to bring them on board. She said that they were there twice. But still there was less progress. However because of that they sat down to plan for the best way to bring everyone on board. One of the ways planned was to involve the sub-county officials . Because they had planned to do it before but it failed due to some immunization programs which were going on in the village. Therefore on good note the Kibo staff had passed by the sub county and planned for a village improvements sanitation meeting the next village visit. On addition to that when they asked mis phider on how much was in her treasury. She said that they had 220000 shillings . The Kibo staff encouraged the committee through phider to continue encouraging all the members to pay their contributions towards the borehole account. In general out of the 25 homes they visited to there was good sanitation progress .
