Notes
Alex.B arrived at Bukudumira and he found them waiting for him at the usual meeting place. They had prayer together that was led by Frank one of the group members. They discussed how to move out to look at the trees the planted and share together how they can care for them.
They began with Margaret Waiswa the chairperson of the group and they found out that her trees are doing good although Some of them lacked the hedges around them. They advised her to put them around the trees. The idea is that hedges protect them from being destroyed by animals and even by children. The musizi and giant lira were good and they told her not allow weed to grow around them.
The members went to Swaibu Kigoolo to how his trees were doing and also to learn more how to care for their trees on the ground. They noted the hedges was good but he left the weed to grow around the trees. The members found out that around the trees were room for water to lodge which may led trees to die. Alex B advised the members not to allow water to lodge around any plated tree when it is still young.
The members in their discussion about how to care for the trees, said that it important for them to love the trees they planted and more so from kibo group. They agreed to a collective responsibility for all of them to see that trees grow until the benefit or harvest them. It is better to visit one another at some point see and learn from the a fellow member. They agreed that anything that happens to a tree should be reported to the leaders of the group for advise or help.
Besides Alex B helping the members to learn how to care for the trees,he visited Hadija a member whose roof of the main house was blown off by wind while raining. She is a mother without a husband and by the time Alex visited her,two people were helping to putting back the wall . Hadija said that God had mercy upon them to the point all of them in the house were not hurt by the roof or bricks. The members of the group had been to her home before to see what happened to sympathize with her.It was already past three o’clock and Alex B left for Jinja.
