Notes
Abraham met thirty one Kiteigalwa community members and they started sharing about money they loaned some members. The members were accused of misusing group money. Some members said that problem is about the leader who lost in a government local council one election which brought in politics and divisions among the members. The current chairman LC1 tried to convince the members that they there is no problem between him and the former chairman but the people said there is a big problem. They received goats and they were told to bring back in the general pool the offsprings, they met and decided that instead of bringing back the real offspring they will bring thirty thousand shillings which they did and they got one million eight hundred shillings because other members lost their goats. They decided to buy two thousand kilograms of cassava which they gave to the members in form of loan and they were to bring back with some small interest. Last year there was a drought whereby the committee decided not to ask the members to bring back money to the general pool. That made some members to think the committee ate their money according to the chairman's speech, he said that they have all records. Abraham was given a chance to speak and he thanked them for the good work done so far because the one who is responsible for burial committee said that they have one million and five hundred shillings. He told them that when he hears problems in the group that shows to him that they are working because if they are not working there will be no challenges. Abraham told the group that for him he is seeing two things being the major issue, first accountability from the committee so that the members can know who is still having group money and when is he or she hoping to bring back, the second thing is about politics which divided them since the local council one government elections. Abraham told the meeting that what he is going to is to meet the committee and talk about how they can work together even if politics is there and also prepare their books so that for the general meeting they will be telling the members who is still having group money and when will he or she bring back the group money. The group started singing songs praising Kibo that they thought that it has gone a way but it came to stay. Abraham hopes to go with Buwunga sub county CDO to Kiteigalwa to advise them.
