Notes
Abraham met forty five Ikumbya community members and they went to check chicken coop which they built. In the previous meeting they struggled to pick the place where they will put the chicken coop but at the end they decided to put it at Nabirye's home. They built a chicken coop 20 feet long and 15 feet wide which took twenty ion sheets and cemented the floor for two hundred and fifty birds. They want a solar panel for lighting, finishing the upper part near the roof, buy jerrycans for water, feeders and maize brand. The chairperson told the meeting that because of what Kibo is doing and what the member are doing they were told to go to the sub county. The government wants to give them a loan but they want them to learn how the will handle the loan before getting it and they have to go to the sub county one day in three weeks. The government told the group to open up a group account in any nearby bank and they are going to use their constitution to open one. They said the CDO Ikumbya sub county is hoping to visit their group soon. Abraham thanked the group for the work done and he advised the committee to keep their books well so that they can tell the group how they have used the funds and the balance on the group account. He gave them money for the remaining thirty five goats which is three million and fifty thousand shillings. He told the meeting to start thinking about what they hope to do as a group because they are going to get a loan from the government and they need to be careful with the loan money if not the will end up selling their land in order to repay the loan which will not be good for them. They are going to finish the chicken coop and they will meet and discuss how they will use the loan money from the government.
