- Notes
- Abraham met thirty four Ikumbya community members and they went to Nabirye's home to check the chicken coop they are building. They put the wire mesh and it did not reach the roof and any animal like cats may go inside and attach the birds, they were advised to make sure the wire mesh reaches the top.
The chairperson said that they gave the committee member responsibility like buying jerrycans for carrying water, buy the feeds and a canvass for mixing the feeds but they have not yet done it.
They chairperson told the meeting that the CDO called her and told her to go the sub county wth some members, the government wants to give the group some loan but they need to learn first how the will use the money before given the money and she encouraged the members to finish up the task they were given so that they can go to another level. She said that they have got a certificate from the district and now they are fully registered as a CBO which is community based organization and they are hoping to be taken back to the state house in Kampala because they were selected by the district as a model village.
Abraham advised the group to start thinking of something they can do together which will make them to pay back the money, he told them not to get the money and put in things which will not give them profit because they may end up selling whatever they have to pay back the loan. They have a good CDO and they need to take his advise always. In this village many people are growing sugar cane and they cut all trees which is making our efforts of planting trees difficult and even the district authorities knows it.
