Ws Notes
David and Steven were in the village to monitor and check the status of the borehole . Because since that borehole was repaired they had never gone back to check its working conditions. While in the village before they reached at the borehole, they first visited mis Nanyonga who was left digging her pit latrine . They found her when she had completed her 37 feet deep pit latrine . The Kibo staff thanked miss Nanyonga because she had her old pit latrine about to get filled up. But still in the shortest time she managed to dig a pit of about 37feet deep. Therefore David advised her to take her time in order for her to get the right construction materials for a stronger pit latrine. From Nanyonga,s home the Kibo staff visited the borehole which was recently repaired. They wanted to monitor and assess its working conditions and also to check if the members were taking good care and responsibility of their borehole. The Kibo staff were so impressed by the way how the members had kept so clean their borehole compound and the sock pit . They also advised the water users committee members who had later found them at the borehole about their roles and responsibilities. After that they moved to their usual meeting place to wait for the rest of the other village members . They waited for about an hour without seeing other members joining them for their planned meeting.Later afterwards miss phider came and told David that they had another village sanitation improvements meeting in the neighborhood village. That meeting was led by the healthy inspector of where maliga village was located mr kayigwa . Miss phider told David that the healthy inspector and the sub county,s intention was to bring the other neighboring village where the Kibo staff didn’t reach out by setting the village where the Kibo staff worked as the role model village of the other neighboring village on the same page as far as the good hygiene and sanitation improvements are concerned. The Kibo staff were so much encouraged by what the sub county was intending to do . The few members who were present departed and the Kibo staff promised to communicate with them another when everyone will be around as they will be guided as they form up their borehole bylaws. On addition to that the treasurer told the Kibo staff that they had collected another money from the members who had not paid their contributions and they were having 230000 shillings as their borehole account balance. In general the entire village has maintained the good hygiene and sanitation levels to the required standards.
