Notes
Alex went to Nabituluntu for borehole drilling supervision and monitoring. From Friday last week, the drillers had an issue with their compressor and they had to order for another one from Kampala. The drillers started working at 7 am in the morning. They found some little water at a depth of 21M. However they continued since this water was not enough. The soil formation was a bit challenging because at some point it collapsed into the pit causing a blockage in the hole because of the soft soil. However this was dealt with quickly and they kept drilling up to 57M. They found more water from 51M and because of the hard rock, they decided to stop at this point. They started blowing the water to clear and this took about one hour. Because the water was found in the rock, it cleared so quickly. The drillers water yield was estimated at 1800L/hr. The community was very happy that water was got.
