- When Alex B arrived at Bupaluka ,he found the members waiting for him at their usual meeting place.The meeting began with a prayer that was led by one of the members of group.
Alex B led the members in the discussion of what they could do as members in the group that will help the to earn income . The members suggested to grow commercial crops like groundnuts,cassava and rice.They also said to keep poultry for commercial purposes.
Mr.Wabwose Mose told the members to think of the project that will involve all the members to participate. He also said that it should not take a lot of time for them to the point of not having time for their personal activities.Mary Mutooto suggested that if they were to go in for farming to consider what would be needed for that project.She said that they need to consider expenses for things like the land,seeds,drugs for spraying,time and labour.
Alex B advised to begin with a project that will help them to work in a group and also learn how to manage their own projects. He told them to begin with a small project that they will afford in terms of money and their presence. He said that since next planting will be in 2019,then they should come up with a good planning for the garden.He told them to observe the rain season when it begins. The area to for planting should be read ploughed .The seeds also should be ready so as to plant in time. The man power if is from them should be also available.He told them think of the input and the out put as far as the project they want to do.He advised them how how they are going to benefit out of it by learning and getting more united. He also warned them of absenteeism when they are called work in the field of their project because bit may affect their performance.
Besides Alex B advising the members on the project they can do as a group,the members want to open a bank account.The Group target to open the bank account by the end of the year .They will decide as a group the kind of the bank to open an account.He told the group to write a letter authorizing the signatories to open bank account. Alex B wished all the members good Christmas and happy new year 2019.
