Ws Notes
David and Steven were in the village to guide the community members as they were forming up their borehole bylaws. The Kibo staff first visited the home of mr kalyango Dauson whom they had left during the previous visit digging his pit about 5 feet deep. When David and Steven visited kalyango Dauson he had added on his pit about 10 feet deep. The Kibo staff encouraged him to work hard such that he would at least dig 15 feet above. The Kibo staff continued and visited the other three homes which had not improved on their old dish racks and among those were mr kasadha Joel, Abdunulu kabolisa, and Matiya kibunduka. Fortunately the three homes had constructed new dish-racks which was so encouraging to the Kibo staff. David encouraged the three homes to protect the poles of their dish racks from being affected by the termites by painting the parts which were supposed to be in the ground by the use of the used oil or placing the poles in the plastic containers. Later a afterwards the Kibo staff went to where the village members had gathered waiting for them. The Kibo staff asked the members how they would protect their borehole sustainability. They started by enacting the first low and regulation which stated that their borehole should be open at 6:00am to 7:00pm . They said that Incase any one will be caught in the act of breaking the borehole padlock, fighting on the borehole ,rumormongering at the borehole compound will be fined with a 50000 shillings,no animals drinking water on the same borehole with the community members, everyone will be entitled to pay money towards the borehole account failure to do so one will not be not allowed to fetch the water and the water user committee will always have meeting to assess their progress. The Kibo staff encouraged them to maintain the required hygiene and sanitation standards. The Kibo staff emphasized great about the safe water chain by making sure the clean water goes to the clean homes to avoid diseases. The treasurer told the Kibo staff that they had contributed 300000 shillings towards their borehole account. They said that they will continue contributing money towards their borehole account for the future sustainability of their borehole. In general the hygiene and sanitation status of the entire village was so good to the required standards.
