Notes
Tom made a visit to Kisiro village to check in improvements in sanitation and hygiene standards as well as facility constructions. When Tom reached the village, he found some of the committee members waiting in the trading center at the usual meeting place. Tom joined them and before they started moving around, they first shared about the progress of the program in the different sections of the village. There was a general agreement that surely the village has improved greatly but also admitted that there are some other sections that are still lagging behind especially on the swampy sections of the village were several homes are still reconstruction new latrines after the first ones collapsed. Tom encouraged the committee members to always follow up on those homes as in Tom can not visit every home on each visit. After sharing they started moving around and this time they all chose to move on one side of the trading center. There were also complaints of one resident who is a landlord but ever since she finished the new latrine, she has not opened the latrine so that her tenants can use it. Tom and the committee members visited her and encouraged her to open the latrine. She accepted and the committee members destroyed the old one as it was extremely full and not in good condition to use. Later they visited other homes encouraging residents to improve as well as maintaining there facilities. One of the committee members moved to the pit being dug by his uncle and encouraged him to work hard and improve as its way passed the deadline. Also he spoke to his cousin about the same and both agreed to work and improve. On the other side of the trading center they also found new pits being dug and they were encouraged to work and finish the pits and construct on them. One lady was very happy for her new pit and said she was waiting for her son to come back and help her with the construction. After Tom left for jinja
