- Alex went to Buluvu first to follow up on the individuals who had not yet completed improving their sanitation standards in their homes. These homes were being reflected in the third evaluation list which was done by Tom before the new borehole in Buluvu. Alex had to follow up on those that were still missing one or two sanitation facilities making sure every home had a pit latrine and the village was completely open defecation free and then update this third evaluation. Alex together with 3 sanitation committtee members, Jowelia, Kansime and Namukose walked around the village and visited those specific homes that needed to reach a status that was required. Karim for the first time in his home completed a new pit latrine but he unfortunately passed on recently towards Christmas. Patrick in the lower section of the village also completed his pit latrine. The vhts have a list of all the homes in the village and it shows only one home missing a pit latrine belonging to a drunkard man. Alex moved into the lower section of the village where the new borehole is located and met the borehole caretaker Nadoi at the well. This well is being maintained and the compound is extremely clean. He talked to the vice chairperson Mr. Oketcho together with the treasurer Masiata and he encouraged them to do their job as told making sure everything about the borehole is goes right. All the bylaws that were agreed upon by all the water users should be followed and maintained. The people in the village were very happy to see Alex back after a while and they thanked him and the rest of the WASH staff that kept encouraging the community to have clean homes which they are now proud of. Alex told the vhts to organize for a community general meeting and Kibo would join them for that meeting to discuss ways that will be followed to maintain the village sanitation status. WASH is now at a point of exiting Buluvu village.
