Notes
Enock, went to kagulu village to check on the progress of latrine construction, kitchen areas, rubbish pits, shower areas and other facilities. This was the first trip made to this village in 2019. Enock met the VHTs, Local leaders to talk about the way forward of this year and how they can get everybody up to speed to have 100% latrine coverage as well as usage. All the local leaders are working together to improve their village. The community leaders also vowed to walk in those homes without latrines to continue encouraging, monitoring and evaluating the current sanitation status. After the small meeting, we walked around the homes to check on progress of sanitation and hygiene in this community. They first walk to the homes which was super stubborn and they were so lazy. As they reached his home, he walked around his home to see his new latrine. He dug a 15 ft latrine deep latrine, and a new shower area. We then walked in the trading centre were we also saw 4 new latrines constructed, one without a walls constructed on it. There has been proper maintenance and standardization of 5he facilities. There is an old lady called Sauya Nakimuli who has constructed all new facilities in her homes. Her home was so impressive with good standard facilities. We are also planning for up coming general meeting to talk about the plan for this year and to get the date for completing the program.
