Notes
David and Steven were in maliga to monitor and assess the sanitation progress in the five homes which were left lagging behind as far as the required sanitation standards was concerned. At the village the Kibo staff were joined by the chairman of the village mr Nainwa Godfrey and the vice chairman of the borehole miss Nansubuga Jane to the different homes during their home to home movements. David and the group first moved to the borehole because they wanted to know the status of the borehole . Fortunately David and Steven were happy to see that the borehole was kept so well . Therefore David advised the people at the borehole and the vice chairwoman Nansubuga Jane to always taking a lead towards their borehole sustainability. From the borehole they visited mis Nansubuga jane’s home . Because previously they had left her digging her latrine pit. It was about 20 feet . They found her when he had completed her 34 feet deep latrine. Nansubuga Jane’s husband told the Kibo staff that he was sun drying his rice before he sells it off in turn to buy the right construction materials for her latrine . The Kibo staff visited the home of mr Luvaluka Ronald the defense of the village. Because he was left a-half way to finish his pit latrine construction . David and his team were happy to see that the defense who used to be stubborn had finished the construction of her new latrine about 32 feet deep . They continued to mr Watongola ‘s home . It was a home which was the most stubborn home. Because Watongola dug ashorter pit latrine about 7 feet deep and started using it. The Kibo staff didn’t meet Watongola in his home , therefore they talked to the young brother and the younger sister advising wantongola to dig another deeper latrine at least 15 feet deep. The younger brother and sister to Watongola promised to help the elder brother Watongola While digging anew good pit latrine . On addition to the above mis Nanyonga the vice chairman woman of the borehole reported to David that they were progressing well according to the recent held sanitation and borehole improvements meeting. She said that during that meeting the members were able to fundraise 40000 shillings on addition to the 200000thousand shillings they had as their borehole account balance. David encouraged him to continue having monthly sanitation and borehole meetings always . In general the sanitation status of Maliga has been maintained except mr Watongola who is yet to dig anew pit latrine .
