Notes
Harriet made a surprise visit to kivule and the goal was to assess whether the participants use stoves on daily basis and if there are some people not using them to identify the challenges they have encountered with them and fix them. She walked home to home while checking on the stoves. It was very interesting to see everyone using the stove on daily basis . This was evidenced by the absence Of the three stone fire and the absence of suit in the kitchens. The participants who got stoves were very happy and thanked Kibo for empowering them with a skill. They said that they no longer suffering with smoke, use two- three pieces of fire wood for a meal to get ready. Also Alfunsi the husband of two co-wives who got two stoves in one kitchen thanked Kibo through Harriet for uniting his wives with stoves because they used to fight over firewood but now they are good friends because they use less fire which doesn't require them to steal from each other. Also one woman called Nangobi who was found cooking on open flames asked Harriet to build for her a stove because she admired other people cooking on stoves. Harriet told her to go and ask the stove program group members to build for her because Kibo taught them how to build stoves and they learnt. Also Harriet told her to construct a kitchen first before she talks to the group.r
