- Notes
- Manuela went to to Namutumba district to meet with the district education officer, her main reason was to discuss with him on how they can work hand in hand with different district leaders and community leaders on how they can promote life skills program in different schools in busoga region. The district education officer was happy with the idea and he supported it, he asked Manuela what can they do as government officials so that to be in line with Kibo group, Manuela told him that, she want him and others officials to always attend Life Skills program or meeting both at school and in the community and to encourage parents to contribute something to wards this program so that we can work together.
After that, Manuela also reported the headmaster of Kivule primary school who was trying to stop Primary seven from attending Life Skills lessons simply because they are candidates that they need more time to concentrate on their books than life skills, On hearing that, the district education officer was unhappy, he told me he is going to call the headmaster and he will worn him not to play around with this program because this program has created good impact in schools where life skills was active. For example New buyanga Primary School, pupils in this school performed very well in their primary leaving examinations due to the knowledge and skills they acquired.
Finally, the district education officer said he will try inform his team members about this program and they will try to be part of Life Skills program.
