- Notes
- This visit was intended to meet with the new water user committee members and all the LC 1 for the four sections in Kagulu village, namely Namusayi, Butego, Kagulu Central and Bugiri section. All the four Lc’s were present and Alex requested each leader to give an update about the status of the homes that hadn’t met the standards in the whole village.
These leaders were two weeks ago given an assignment by Alex to go back and concentrate on those specific homes to make sure they all change before Kibo group would go a head to drill a new water source in this village. They had to give an update of each household and see what has changed. All those households were to be updated into the third evaluation to know the current Sanitation state of the village. In total, a list of 26 homes were to be approached and be updated. There was a great improvement in most of the homes that were approached. Many of the people have completed building new pit latrines and some few are still remaining. Alex will update them into the third survey to understand the village sanitation status before continuing with the steps of borehole drilling. Very soon the village will be ready for the borehole drilling.
Therefore each LC leader gave a report of the names of every household and that was captured and updated into the third survey. Also all the water user committee members were present and together we discussed how to have all the people in the village be involved in this process of borehole construction. Also the water user committee was reminded of a very hard task a head of them making sure the village contribute 300,000/= for the borehole account and to cater for all the workers. On a very good note, the village has already raised the 300,000/= needed for the beginning borehole account balance. Also they have contributed food to feed the workers that would work on the borehole drilling. Alex will go back to meet with the leaders and prepare the village for the borehole survey.
