Notes
Enock went to check on the residents who are still digging and constructing their latrines and to also speak to families which haven’t even start up with latrine construction. When he reached the village, he met with the local leaders and asked how many people who have so far paid their money for iron sheets to roof their facilities, the chairman had all the records and they are already 50 residents who have paid. The kibo WASH TEAM is also planing to carry out triggering in hand washing and educate the resident the core values of hand washing before eating a meal, serving a meal, and the benefits of using soap while washing their hands. As we walked around checking on latrine constructing and evaluating the progress of of sanitation and hygiene. During the follow up visit, we encouraged the residents to com for hand washing triggering if we call for the general meeting. The residents all seemed to be welcoming and embracing the program. We visited some homes which are constructing their new latrines guided them on which materials to use as well as encouraging them to smear all their facilities, uses of ash in latrine and emphasizing the standardization of all the facilities. Generally the whole village has many newly constructed latrines and all are being used. There has been a good improvement in sanitation and hygiene.
