- Notes
- Jessica and Tape went to the village to carry out another demonstration stove together with the community members.
When they arrived there they went straight to a home where the demonstration process was going to be carried out and found some members busy stamping and mixing the dirt for building the fuel efficient stove. The members immediately got excited when they saw Kibo staff, welcoming them with songs of joy. After exchanging greetings, the committee chairperson informed Kibo staff of some members who had lost their relative and had gone for the burial ceremony. Kibo staff felt sorry for their loss and later joined them in stamping the dirt until it got ready for building the stove. There after, everyone began participating in the building process which was very important for the members in a way that it enabled them to learn and master the skills easily.
The members kept on asking questions during the demonstration process while Kibo staff answered them which indicated that they were much interested in learning the skills for building a stove. After building the stove, Kibo staff together with the members walked around the village monitoring the old stoves that were previously built by the members. This was intended to see if the stoves were well or poorly maintained or not so that Kibo staff would correct their mistakes. In the process, it was found that some members had not smeared their stoves and their kitchens.
Kibo staff went ahead and encouraged the members to keep practicing building the energy saving stoves on their own for this would help them improve on their building capacity in the future. They were also encouraged to keep smearing their home facilities especially the kitchen floors and walls. There after Kibo staff thanked all members for taking part in building the energy saving stoves and the meeting came to an end.
