- Notes
- Harriet and Tape found when the participants had already gathered at one of the home where the stove was to be built. They had already mixed and stamped the dirt for the two planned stoves.
The members warmly welcomed kibo staff and thanked them for encouraging them and supporting them to take their sickle cell child Mugoya Rajab to the hospital though for them they had thought that the child was demon possessed.
They told them that Rajab was treated in the hospital, discharged and now getting better. They thanked Kibo for the love and support they gave the family while in the hospital that is frequent visits in the hospital, prayers, guidance among others.
Kibo staff later divided the community into two groups where by each group was joined by one kibo staff. Kibo staff asked people who did not participate in trying to build stoves to come up this time because practice makes perfect. Some women like Naigaga Mariam wanted to dodge because they were not sure of what to do. Harriet encouraged them that they will be working with the rest of the group for guidance because practice makes.
The community was able to build two stoves on their own with the guidance of kibo staff.Kibo staff asked the community to build two stoves that is each group one stove before Kibo’s next meeting. She also reminded them to continue smearing their stoves and kitchens to avoid jiggers , promote better look for the facilities as well as their durability.
The Healthy and Safe kitchen committee committed itself to ensure that before a member gets a stove her kitchen must be well smeared.
