Enock, Martin, chairman LC1 and the sub-county health inspector Abby teamed up to walk around the village to check, teach, encourage, evaluate the progress of latrine construction and other facilities like dish racks, kitchen areas, shower areas, rubbish pits as well as the uses of all those facilities. There are people working so hard to improve to create a great change in this community. They saw many new latrines in the homes they walked and these homes were encouraged to maintain these facilities and use ash everyday in their latrines. There were 10 target homes also visited, these people had promised to have finished there latrines in two weeks time. On reaching these homes, they were all found busy constructing there facilities. There are already 7 newly constructed latrines, dish racks were also constructed though some people complain that they don’t have trees around to cut down big poles to construct and these are people who stay in the trading centre. They where encouraged to construct sustainable facilities which will save them time to be productive in their gardens and also participate in other productive activities. The homes near the school and the trading centre have constructed all their facilities with cement and brick. Martin was busy teaching the residents how to construct proper drainage systems on shower areas and soak pit where the water from the shower goes to. The chairman also reported that there are few cases of diarrhoea as compared to before, also people are now defecating in latrines not the thick bushes around like before. He continued and appreciated the way Kibo is teaching them the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
