Notes
Henry,Harriet,Ida,Suzan,Sarah,Fallon,Tape, lona,Steven and Gerald went to Sinde to disengage the program activities from the village and also to give out a few incentives to the members in appreciation for involving themselves in all the program lessons. On their way to the village, they went to the District Sub County where they met with the community development officer and the sub county perish chief who then accepted to accompany kibo staff to the village so as to witness the activities that were going to take place that day. When they arrived there, they found a few community members gathered at the meeting place near a borehole and one of the members informed kibo staff of some members who were busy building energy saving stoves at their homes. Kibo staff together with the members present agreed to first move around a few homes before they settled for a meeting. They moved around monitoring the Healthy and Safe kitchen facilities whereby most of them were found in a good shape and well maintained such as the main house, kitchens, bathrooms, latrines and the stoves were neatly smeared. There after they went to a home and found most members gathered and busy mixing the dirt in preparation for building the energy saving stove. The community got so excited when they saw kibo staff, they welcomed them with smiles and hugs and after worm greetings, kibo staff joined in stamping the dirt. Together they danced and sung on top of their voices until the dirt got ready for building the stove. Harriet requested the members to take the already stamped dirt into the kitchen and first attend the meeting then later they would go back and complete building the stove. Kibo staff together with the members walked back to the center and settled down for the meeting. Harriet handed the agenda to Ida who chaired the meeting that day. Ida invited the Chairperson l.c.1 and all the speakers who were asked to only speak for two minutes. After the speakers, Henry was invited to speak on behalf of Kibo. He thanked the community for working hard and changing their village. He urged them to continue the good work. The master of ceremony invited the guest speaker ( CDO) Namayingo to speak to her community where she encouraged them to always work hand in hand with the organizations that will come mostly from Kibo organization. After her speech, Harriet pulled out the list of active members and called names of the community members who all got a piece of soap and the two big saucepans meant for the entire group to assist them Incase they had any function within the village. The members were so grateful for gifts that Kibogroup gave them and asked if there were somethings left in basket. Sinde proved to be one of the best villages that picked interest in the kibo group programs so far. The meeting finally came to an end with a prayer from one of the community members mr.kasooya.
