Notes
Irene went to nabikenge to teach about disease recognition basically urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections. Irene started with a recap of the previous lesson and then later asked about the meaning of sexually transmitted diseases and urinary transmitted diseases. Margret said sexually transmitted are diseases transmitted through sex and urinary transmitted diseases are those diseases transmitted through urine, another members said they are diseases transmitted by prostitutes and people who share sex partners. On addition to that Irene said sexually transmitted diseases refers to a condition passed from one person to another through sexual contact whereas the urinary tract diseases are those diseases caused by small organisms and are among the most common infections in humans. Irene went on to ask about how one can notice that they have these diseases. Members said itching of the private parts, bad smell, pain when urinating and Irene added on the other signs and symptoms. Irene then asked the members the causes of these diseases and continued to inform them that not all are passed from one person to another through sex but others are through poor hygiene and the presentation of our reproductive organs, the female organs are more prone to these diseases than the male. Then asked the members to ask questions after she encouraged them to go to the health centers for treatment Incase of any sign and seek medical help before the diseases advance which will be costly to treat.
