Notes
Enock went to the sub county to pick the perish chief who for long wanted to team up with Kibo staff, to also walk around this village to encourage the residents to improve on their sanitation and hygiene. They taught the residents the challenges which may result due to poor hygiene in there homes and may affect also the entire community say diseases like cholera which may kill so many people because of open defection. They continued walking home to home to sensitize the residents on the benefits of good sanitation and the importance all the facilities like latrine, shower areas, rubbish pits, dish racks. They also encouraged the people to use Ash in their latrines to chase flies which move germs from latrines to food and cause a lot of diseases that may even result to death. The people are embracing the lessons and working everyday to dig latrines and constructing good standard facilities with bricks and cement. The homes in the trading center which had latrine pits dug, 4 of them have already constructed proper latrine structures on them. The VhTs and the LC1 are also helping the community members by monitoring how the pick axes are being shared amongst one another so that some dont take a longtime with a pick axe yet other people are in need of them. There is also an old widow called Becca who was met building a latrine structure, when asked about her family she said they are far away and on the next village. Enock was concerned and told the chairman if they know some of the relatives let them come and help there grandma to build proper and strong facilities. There are also some new dish racks constructed in homes which have already finished constructing latrines. Enock taught them the sizes and standards of dish racks and also rubbish pits .
