Notes
Introduction Early marriages is the process whereby young girls and boys decide to start staying together as couples, this practice is common among young girls and boys in Africa, Kibo staff departments of life skills program reaches out pupils in rural primary school to educate the pupils about the dangers of early marriages. teaching pupils about the causes and dangers of early marriages is good because this lesson enables teenagers to be afraid of getting married while still young. Overview When Manuela reached the school, she went direct to life skills class, she greeted them and informed them that next week on Monday she will not come it will be a holiday called Easter Monday that mean she will be coming in the next week. After that, Manuela introduced the new lesson, before she can start teaching, she started by asking the pupils about the dangers of early marriages, causes and possible ways of avoiding early marriages if they have ever seen child mothers and fathers in their community and the condition they are in. Pupils were able to share their ideas, actually they told Manuela that in their community, there are so many young parents even they know them and even mentioned their names because some of them were pupils from Naiakona primary school, they also said that those young parents are not fine they are going through a lot, she later asked pupils, did you want to be like those one ?they all said no, after that Manuela explained to the pupils what can happen to a teenager if they get married while still young, Manuela explained that basing on some of the examples from her village , Manuela said that when she was in primary five they were many in class, but when she reached primary seven, the numbers started to reduce steps by steps as some of the girls were getting married at a tender age. She went on and told the pupils that, when she go back to her village for Christmas holidays sometimes she meets those girls but they look too old, miserable, helpless and sometimes they always say that they wish to go back to school but it’s too late for them. Finally, Manuela encouraged the pupils to abstain from sex and focus on their studies so that to achieve their dreams .
