- Notes
- Alex went to have a meeting with the community to encourage them to maintain their sanitation and hygiene and put in place a plan that will guide them to maintain their village sanitation. The leaders, LC1 and the water user committee were also present and together they came up with a way forward to repair their well. The village thanked Kibo group for their commitment to help the village understand the importance of proper sanitation and also providing a clean water source to their village.
The leaders accepted to work together and ensure that the village stays clean and also work together to make sure the borehole continues to benefit every body in the community and ensuring its functionality at all times by working together to have it fixed in case of any repairs needed. The leaders would be reminding people to maintain their sanitation standards during the community gatherings like funerals and other meetings. The water user committee will also ensure that a safe water chain is in place to encourage people take clean water from the borehole to their homes and consumption. Alex told the gathering that Kibo will remain happy if the village stays clean and the borehole is well maintained by the community. The water user committee was also reminded of their roles and responsibilities and being active at all times. The village has embraced the other Kibo programs too and they were told to continue doing the same whenever something new comes to their village even though its from other N.G.O.. WASH program is at the verge of phasing out from Bupaluka and reduce their presence in this village but will have to keep in touch with the village leaders to make sure all is going well.
