Notes
Tom made a visit to igerera B village to meet with the village leaders to discuss about the triggering and the sanitation levels in the village. When Tom arrived in the village, he found the chairman of the village already waiting after Tom had called him earlier. There was also a funeral in the village as a resident was shot In Namutumba town. The chairman said some of his committee members had gone to the funeral but said the meeting was to go on after he mobilized the few to be present at the meeting and later go to the funeral. The chairman also moved around further mobilizing other few residents to attend the meeting. After about an hour, the meeting started and the chairman introduced Tom and invited his tom to speak to the rest of the members in the meeting. Tom spoke about kibo and it’s intentions in the village especially working with the community residents to promote the sanitation and hygiene in the village. Tom spoke about the relationship between kibo and Namutumba district as well as the communities that kibo works in. Tom spent most time speaking about the value and benefits of having a good health community with health people. After his speech, one of the leaders appreciated kibo and greatly invited kibo to work in his village. He spoke also about the benefits of having all the sanitation facilities in a home and decried government policies of not being able to sensitive people in the area of sanitation and hygiene. One of the vhts also decried how most government officials work especially in the area of sanitation and hygiene where they only arrest people rather than teaching them. She said she was very happy that kibo is going to first teach. They all said they will support Kibo’s efforts in promoting sanitation and hygiene in the village and after a day for triggering was agreed for the 3rd of May. Tom urged them to mobilize the village very well so that the triggering is successful. After Tom left for jinja
