Notes
Enock and Martin visited this community to continue teaching, encouraging, guiding, advise, monitoring, evaluate the progress of construction of latrines, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen area and other facilities. When they reached the village, they met with the local leaders to talk about how the community is responding to the program, asked questions of they have any challenges regarding to program and how best can we find solutions to the challenges they are facing while improving on their sanitation. They had one challenge of hard ground to dig pits in some area. For this homes with that challenge we advised them to be working in other facilities as they wait for rains to come so that can be able to dig deep pits for latrines. Enock taught families about the continuous dangers of open defecations which may result to even death of some loved ones. I was so appreciative to the residents who have put in a lot of effort to complete all their facilities like new latrines, shower areas, dish racks with are on a great standard. Since we taught them about proper dish rack construction, there are men who learnt how to construct good and strong dish racks they walk around the community to construct good standard latrines, teach other residents how to construct and also guiding one another. Martin taught about how to make good drainage systems on shower areas, soak pits to avoid stagnant water which harbor mosquitoes and cause diseases like malaria. There are five newly constructed latrines, 4 new dish racks. This community has greatly improved in the level of sanitation. Many people are busy working on cleaning, constructing, smearing their homes.
