Notes
Introduction It is important for one/ the community to make proper informed decisions that will affect their lives positively rather than negatively. It is very easy for one to make a Decision without thinking about the consequences or impact on others. Overview Lorna reached the village and she did not find the chairman as he was handling a certain case of theft and therefore they had some leads on where the thief was but unfortunately they did not find him. It had also rained the previous day and so people were very busy in their gardens as this part had not got such heavy rains since it started raining and so they were busy in their gardens. Only a few members turned up and by the time they turned up, time had already gone. Lorna thanked the few members for turning up and told them that unfortunately she will not be able to teach since they were few and also it would not make sense teaching only those few people. The chairman understood where Lorna was coming from and he advised and encouraged the members that he knows that it just started raining but as important as the rain is so is Kibo’s lessons. He apologized on behalf of his community and told Lorna to bare with them just this time and that next time she comes it will be okay as it has been before. One lady Harriet however called Lorna aside and asked if she would talk to her. She thanked Lorna for the lessons especially the HIV/AIDS lessons. She said her husband has HIV and this she knows because she is the 6th wife. Her husband is a Muslim with many wives and children. She told Lorna that since his medication got finished, he has not gone back to get more ARVs and she is worried as he now has even caught a cold and is weak. She added that his only taking Septrine(antibiotics). She was asking for advice. Lorna advised her to encourage him to go to the nearest health center for more drugs. Harriet said that he tells him to go to the hospital, he says soroti is far. Lorna said he does not have to go to soroti but the nearest health center and they will give him medication. Septrine is just an antibiotic given when ones CD4 count is high and viral load low to help catch some other opportunistic infections. However in this case she does not know whether his viral load is high or low hence the need to go back to the hospital. Conclusion Lorna’s plan did not go as was intended but she was glad she managed to speak to Harriet about her and her husbands situation. Lorna encouraged Harriet to continue loving her husband as before and also ensure that he gets treatment for the flu before it turns to something else and weakens his immune system. Lorna then left for Jinja and promised to visit her home on her next visit

They are relating well with each other whereby they comfort each other in times of need as well as provide help where needed for example with Rehema’s son, who got an accident. This was after Lorna told them to love one another as this will help them grow as a community.
Other Program Observations
Some of the dish racks are made of half wood and iron sheets. Lorna asked the chairman why this is so and he said lack of iron wood/ timber hence the iron sheets , which is easier for them to get. Lorna will address this in the next meeting.
